Walking in cold is a choice

Everyone agrees prep matters. Almost nobody does it, because prep is twenty minutes of tab-hopping per meeting: old threads, a LinkedIn skim, a news search, the notes from last time. Multiply by six calls a day and it quietly becomes the first thing you cut.

So make it nobody’s job. Connect Google Calendar, Gmail, and Tavily, and Walle preps every call before you think to ask.

Say to Walle
@Walle Before every external meeting, email me a one-page brief 45 minutes out.

How the autopilot works

Walle watches the calendar for meetings with external attendees. For each one it pulls the thread history you share with them from Gmail, runs a fresh web pass on the person and the company with Tavily, and folds in whatever context it already remembers about the relationship.

The result lands in your inbox as a one-page brief, timed ahead of the call. No new app to check. The prep is just there, on top of your inbox, right when you need it.

What is in a dossier

A good brief is short and opinionated. Walle’s covers:

  • Who is in the room, and the state of your relationship with each person.
  • Your last exchanges, distilled: what was promised, what is still open.
  • What changed since you last spoke: funding, launches, hires, press.
  • For investor and prospect calls, the angle: what they care about and the one number to have ready.
  • One sharp question to open with.
Say to Walle
@Walle Who am I meeting this week that I have never emailed before?

Set it once

Tell Walle which meetings count. External only, certain domains, anything with "intro" in the title, whatever fits your calendar. Say it once in Slack and it becomes a standing instruction. From then on the only calls you walk into cold are the ones you chose to.
